How we are making an Impact (Why Us?) :
Most of the 400+ million diabetic patients in the world may be unaware of the looming threat of foot ulcers leading to amputation. High glucose in the blood can lead to peripheral artery disease and neuropathy – damage of nerve cells and loss of sensation, especially on foot. Hidden injuries are not felt, do not heal, become ulcers, and if untreated lead to gangrene and require amputations – ranging from toe to entire leg. Every 30 seconds, there is one patient who loses his limb because of diabetes. There are an estimated 2 lakh diabetic foot amputations in India every year, leading to disability and further aggravation of the diabetic condition. Ayati has commercialised its first product i.e. VIBRASENSE to screen the patients for foot neuropathy at an early stage and prevent foot amputations. The device is portable, battery-powered, and handheld device that can screen more than 100 subjects in single charge. More than 3000 devices already deployed across 15 countries. Ayati is launching 2 more products, one in diagnostic and one in management segment to provide comprehensive care to diabetic foot patients.
